Tilleul

Being small or large leaves, the linden tree is a large tree in the Tiliaceae family. It can reach 18 metres in adulthood throughout Europe. It has a characteristic silhouette and has smooth grey bark and deciduous foliage. Alternates, its leaves are cordiform, dististic and petiolated. The linden gives pleasantly fragrant flowers of yellowish white colour and are arranged in hanging clusters from 2 to 10. Its fruits are indehiscent capsules, ranging in size from 6 mm to 10 mm depending on the variety.
